First off. An excellent historical context laid. Kudos. Second. Does a conex container on a ship with cocaine deserve a missile strike? We are in strange times. And finally. Part of President Nixon's War on Drugs included a push for health insurance companies to include drug rehabilitation as part of his "War". Where were you filming this? And the squirrel stole the show!
Thanks much there Gregorio. Yeah, Nixon was actually quite big on rehab and treatment as I understand and Reagan big on prevention (even if Just Say No may have been laughed at). This war on drugs is just missile strikes. And yeah, this doctrine opens up strikes on anything - although it will work as a deterrent. This was Chapultepec Park, a real gem in Mexico City. The squirrel makes the most cash out of this.
I enjoyed this video and really enjoyed the video on another level I see.. for missing the squirrel all together lol 😂 unbelievable. Methinks there are no cocaine traffickers since the first hit on a speedboat (thought that was AI or otherwise staged still do) but there certainly wouldn’t be trafficking on that road ever since who the hell is that stupid.. our government experimenting in real time on narratives not much but once it clicks with the American people it’s gone be force fed 💯. So parallel with Panama I wasn’t Norge a little bit more of a drug dealer than Maduro.? maduro is a bad guy, but cmon man, taking over his country and then what? If it even happens, they can say they restored democracy and have “chibidiboo”type elections like in Iraq and nothing worked interesting times indeed. And I have a question wasn’t Reagan‘s war on drugs totally phony, correct me if I’m wrong, I mean with many things, but Reagan, the Contras did his dirty work right.. and they were dealing drugs. What was the name of the Nicaraguan guy who was a supplier for freeway Rick Ross, and when they got busted, Rick Ross went to prison for pretty much life and the foreign dude the government gave him a green card or was it a citizenship, for his hard work.. my son’s family member went to Nicaraguan jungle in 1980’s to fight civil/guerilla war along side Miskito tribe against contras in the jungle. I’m talking too much but I wanted to tell you one more thing. I love your eternal lesson because you are so layered in your knowledge and you’re just a real serious journalist and there aren’t many left in the world. So amazing work as always.
Super appreciated and great to have your voice here my friend. The Contras episode is very real, as in there was definitely Contras involved in cocaine trafficking. And that is also part of a bigger picture of the U.S. government and CIA working with allies involved in drug trafficking in various spheres. Yet at the same time, I think Reagan meant some of his war on drugs and believed in it, even while it was being self sabotaged. More on this to come though. The Miskito tribe is an interesting one, I think quite a lot were actually recruited into the Contras and have been persecuted for that more recently. All best there!
Misinformation alert 🚨 my son corrected me on this recently: his dad fought alongside Miskitos against the Santinistas, not Contras, my bad.. and yes they definitely are a very interesting tribe. Like you said.
If fentanyl is primarily trafficked from Mexico to the United States and it's chemical precursors are trafficked from China now to Canada and smuggled back to Mexico and then in it's finished form of fentanyl back to the United States, then we can assume either the Trump administration needs a new geographical compass and road map or there are other reasons for the continuing spewing of belligerence against Venezuela.
The reasons are political and a resurgence of the old imperialism of the Monroe Doctrine. The Trump administration has embraced the dream again of controlling politically and economically North and South America, to fortify America against Chinese and Russian influence in the region. Marco Rubio is not only Secretary of State but also acting National Security Advisor, acting head of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and acting Archivist of the United States. He is the most powerful warlord neocon in politics in the United States. His whole political life he has dreamed not only in dominating again his ancestral country of Cuba but all of Latin America. The idea of Trump as the no wars president flew out the window when warlord Rubio was added to the Cabinet. Trump is the noisiest voice of Rubio's dream and the lies of trying to save American lives from fentanyl is the smokescreen for this implementation of a brutal American policy since World War 2 costing millions of lives around the world.
If this administration was truly interested in making attempts to eradicate fentanyl, you would conduct enforcement operations with Mexico against the ports not only in Mexico but in the United States, Los Angeles in particular. Containers searched at every port, manifests examined to obvious links to the exportation and importation of fentanyl. Border crossings into the US along the California and Arizona should come to a standstill inspecting every truck and car. The border would be shutdown due to the enforcement chaos or is this chaos is even necessary when only 96,000 American have died from fentanyl overdose yet almost 200,000 people a year die from the effects of alcohol. If we are not concerned about 200,000 deaths, why would the US government jeopardize the profits from their largest trading partner, Mexico.
Bang on again with some stellar points here. On the Marco Rubio situation. My reading now is that Rubio if full on regime change committed - but Trump isn't totally sold on this yet. Rubio got Trump to commit to a naval build up and blasting boats as a way to put pressure on Maduro, but it isn't working. I think Trump is considering the full invasion and it could escalate into it, but it's not foregone at all at this stage. But maybe I'm wrong!
We do not know what happened in China. There could have been some agreement about Venezuela, China still committed itself to a Russia/China axis. Also the whole tariff issue may have been postponed for a year. The Supreme Court opinion of tariffs will come out soon.
Very informative and well done video. I especially liked the maps.
With Trump it is not really about solving a problem, it is more to create drama and project macho image. And if things go sour then just move on and create some other crisis.

Few typos in the text, but you’ll figure it out. Cheers 🍻 😇
No worries, and all comments are great to get in the mix.

Thanks there Tapeesh and shout to Omid Visua for the maps and graphics
