Excellent analysis, I am a citizen of Culiacán Sinaloa and I believe that it is the map closest to reality that I have seen so far. Something that I would like to contribute is to emphasize the power that the Beltran Leyva brothers had, especially Arturo Beltran, who is considered by many as much more powerful than Chapo and even than Mayo, one of the reasons why he really lost the war was due to the internal betrayal of Edgar Valdez Villareal, however if it had not been for that event he probably would have won the war against Chapo-Mayo, in fact the Beltran Leyva were already claiming their victory, listen to "The cartel of betrayals" (El cartel de las traiciones), Greetings and blessings

Thanks much. Yea, I agree the scope of Arturo Beltran’s territory seems enormous - I have a new project in the pipeline, which looks more deeply at him - a very important figure indeed in the history of Mexican narco trafficking

Do you think you could enhance the map to the whole continent? To see where Mexican cartels have interests abroad, like, it seems, in Ecuador. Thanks!

Hi Carlos - that is a great idea. I would have to get some good intel on the areas in the other countries but I will look into it. All best there and thanks much for the support friend.
