How The Taliban Smashed Opium

While the military forces of the United States, Britain and allies occupied Afghanistan for a generation it was producing over 85 percent of the world’s heroin. After the Taliban took over they smashed about 90 percent of this trade.

Australian journalist Hollie McKay covered the occupation and insurgency in Afghanistan, was there for the fall of Kabul and then stayed to cover the country under the Taliban. She explains to me what the hell has been going on.
